Apocalyptic Diaries

History

Location:
Cedar Falls, Iowa
History:

It was 1999 and the end seemed near and the Millennium was all over popular media.  As a serious joke Jason Krueger purchased a portable mini-cassette recorder and along with Eric Dow and Arash Sangha began traveling around town and recording conversations about the end, how to survive, the best ways to die, etc.  The conversations took place both while sitting in various locals and while walking around Cedar Falls.

On one trip, Arash and Jason went to Mohair Pear and interviewed Barb Schlif about the Apocalypse and how it was effecting her business.  She said that business had been picking up and that polyester was the fabric of the future as you would burn faster and not suffer as much.  Arash and Jason left wishing that they had more polyester in their wardrobes.  On the way to Krueger's, they found a pair of poly-wool blend pants.  Jason wears these to paint in to this day.

The Apocalyptic Diaries were definitely an audio or audio art project and not a band in the traditional sense. Eric, Arash and Jason continued the conversations for several months, with Noah Johnson joining in on session in Jason's room.  The tapes are possibly currently in Arash's possession.
